Happy to have finally created with Selena Jutton. Selena is a model and photographer. One of the hardest things to do is shoot another photographer. This is because there sometimes are lingering thoughts of if he/she approves of your style of shooting and editing. These thoughts always surface at the most random times during the photoshoot or during post-production. Surprisingly, this shoot went by smoothly as she allowed me to take the lead and followed my directions immaculately.

Based in Kingston, Jamaica, and frequent South Florida, Selena expressed to me that she wanted to do something “very New York City”. It was obvious that she was in a NY state of mind. We went with something fashion-forward. This shoot was inspired by William Klein’s street fashion photography. We recreated our version of one of his popular taxi / yellow cab shots.

Selena Jutton is a Jamaican photographer and model, and the founder of Moods Lens, a project known for celebrating the cultural and ethnic diversity of Caribbean women through bold, expressive portraiture. She’s detail-driven and quality‑obsessed—traits that show up in her editing and styling—and her audience has grown quickly since she started sharing work online. Today, her photography and modeling live side by side: authentic, polished, and unmistakably her.

City awakening

New York wakes up around her—steam rising from grates, horns in the distance, the Sabrett umbrellas flapping at the corner cart. It’s the right canvas for a fashion‑forward story with a distinctly Klein‑esque pulse. Selena arrives composed, ready to move, ready to turn sidewalk into runway.

Crossing into character

She steps into the crosswalk and the city gives way. The suit is soft but the stride is sharp; New York blurs at the edges while her pace stays constant. Photographing a photographer always feels like a conversation—here, it becomes choreography.

From window lean to sidewalk step, the cab becomes our stage. The color story—taxi yellow, blush pink, charcoal asphalt—repeats like a chorus. It’s the New York you picture, but made personal by Selena’s presence and pace.
