I’m new to New York City, and not knowing many models or locations here yet puts me in unfamiliar territory. In Miami, I could always pick up the phone, call a few models, and nine times out of ten I’d be shooting within the hour — whoever was free that day. Here in NYC, things aren’t so easy. Not yet, at least. So you can imagine how I jumped for joy when I saw that Marvin and Jasmine were in town for NYFW (New York Fashion Week).

I reached out to them both about a shoot, and they were down for it if their schedules allowed. I’d love to say “and the rest is history,” but we almost didn’t get to shoot at all. I was lucky to grab 90 minutes with the couple the day before they flew out — squeezed in on their way to a gig that came up too last‑minute to leave us any more time to create.

The concept, on the fly, was to capture a power couple in some street‑fashion looks. We shot both solo frames and shots as a couple.

We met on a cold afternoon among the cobblestones and cast‑iron facades. Marvin set the tone in a vintage Moncler shearling‑collar jacket — navy body, chocolate leather shoulder panels, a gold chain peeking from a black knit. Jasmine arrived with old‑school glamour: a full‑length faux‑fur leopard coat over a fitted black look, knee‑high studded boots, gold hoop earrings, and braids sweeping over one shoulder. Together, it felt like a street editorial rather than a last‑minute session.

Marvin’s look reads as understated luxury — the aged shearling, clean lines, and workwear boots, all grounded by the texture of SoHo’s stone. Even in motion he keeps an easy calm: hands tucked, chin up, shoulders square to the lens.
