Ratheesh & Anjali – A Snapshot in TimeWhether they look at these photos next week or ten years from now, my hope is that this little narrative helps spark memories as if it all happened yesterday.Ratheesh and Anjali were a fun couple to work with. Anjali, now his wife, was all smiles the entire time. She was on a high from beginning to end, fully enjoying herself throughout the day. They were joined inside by three guests: Devy, Elga, and Samarth. Samarth served as the witness, while Elga and Devy were especially thoughtful. Anjali’s shoes were beautiful, but not exactly comfortable, so Elga and Devy carried her comfortable shoes around for most of the day. Whenever it was time for a photo op, Anjali would quickly throw the heels back on. It was one of those little things that said a lot about their team and how much love and support surrounded the couple.Ratheesh had shared a specific type of video as inspiration before the shoot, asking for a particular style of imagery. I adjusted my approach to match what he sent, especially during the Marriage Bureau portion. I used on-camera flash and harsh lighting to reflect the tone and style of the examples he provided. They were happy, they were fun, and it was a good time all around. One standout moment came during the ceremony when Anjali accidentally placed the ring on the wrong hand. Before switching it over, there was a quick moment of laughter from everyone in the room. A nice, light-hearted pause in the middle of something meaningful.Outside, they were greeted by a group of friends waiting for them. That kind of turnout speaks volumes. It usually means you’re well loved.Above everything else, what stood out was how willing they were to do whatever it took to get the shot, and they did it all with a smile and laughter. Anjali even ran through a crowd across the pedestrian crosswalk, wearing her comfortable shoes and holding the heels in her hands, just to help make it happen. And of course, the champagne pop behind the City Hall building in City Hall Park was a moment to remember. Pretty sure it wasn’t legal, but everyone nearby was all smiles, sharing in their celebration.Hopefully, these images bring all of that back to life.
